The group has also called on International Oil Companies (IOCs) to relocate to the region before the set date, failure, which would attract resumption of hostilities against oil and gas infrastructure in the region.
“We are now asking the oil companies to relocate back to Niger Delta; we assure them of security, host community is creating an enabling environment, that is why we are bringing in foreign investors. We are bringing in foreign investors for the transformation of the Niger-Delta region.”
Johnson also urged the management of the oil firms to respect duly signed CBAs and ensure that where there was no CBA in place, the association would ensure an atmosphere that would ensure that a CBA was put in place to reduce friction in the sector.
The House had, by its resolution in December 2016, ordered the probe after a motion by a member, Mr. Johnson Agbonayinma, alleging evidence of “fraudulent transactions and irregularities” in crude and gas exports within the period under review.
