17 October 2017, Sweetcrude, Port Harcourt — Trelleborg’s offshore operation, along with its partner SDH Integrated Services, has trained and hired local talent in Nigeria to manufacture its range of innovative offshore solutions as part of its compliance with the provisions of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act of 2010

This was disclosed at an event in Port Harcourt attended by approximately 150 guests including decision makers, members of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), and executives from leading international oil companies invested in the region.

The event witnessed real-time demos and presentations showcasing Trelleborg’s range of offshore solutions including thermal insulation, passive fire protection, and pipeline security.

While speaking, Oddvar Kopstad, Sales Manager with Trelleborg’s offshore operation in Norway said the event went far beyond expectations. “We are in contact with attendees to set up additional meetings and we have already started planning a new event in 2018 together with the NCDMB.”

Complying with the NOGICD Act supports Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in strategic market segments.

On hand to welcome guests were Mr. Morrison Fiddi, Chairman of SDH, Mr. Akintunde Adelana, Director, Monitoring and Evaluation, Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Mr. Simbi Wabote, a senior management staff of the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) and Eirik Simonsen, Business Group Director from Trelleborg’s offshore operation based in Norway.
