12 September 2012, Sweetcrude, LAGOS – SEVENTY-nine ships carrying various cargoes are expected to arrive Lagos ports between September 11 and 29, according to the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.
In its daily publication, “Shipping Position”, made available to newsmen, NPA said that 19 ships of the vessels were waiting to discharge petroleum products.
A breakdown of the number of vessels laden with petroleum products showed that 12 will discharge petrol, four will discharge kerosene, two (diesel) while one will discharge bulk gas.
The document also showed that some ships would sail in with used and old vehicles, rice, fish, containers and general cargoes.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 41 of the expected ships are to arrive the ports between September 11 and 15.
The document also reported that seven other ships were waiting to discharge bulk wheat, general cargo and rice.

We guess this puts paid to concerns over petroleum products availability, at least for now.
