Port Harcourt — The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, has revealed that a Chinese company, Beijing Auxin Chemical Technology Ltd., has expressed interest in establishing local production capabilities for mining materials in Nigeria.

Alake made this known after a courtesy visit by a delegation from the company, led by Chen Xiao Xing, Vice Chairman of the China National Association of Engineering Consultants.

According to the Minister, the company’s interest in local production is a welcome development that aligns with the Federal Government’s agenda to boost the country’s mining sector and increase its contribution to the national economy.

He said, “The Federal Government is committed to creating an enabling environment for investors to thrive in the mining sector. We believe that local production of mining materials will not only reduce our reliance on imports but also create jobs and stimulate economic growth.”

Alake noted that the company’s investment will complement the government’s efforts to develop the sector, adding that the Ministry is willing to provide the necessary support to ensure the success of the project.

The Minister also emphasized the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships between Nigerian enterprises and international investors, highlighting the need for collaboration and cooperation to drive growth and development in the sector.
